Crushing Darkness and Burning Hope(ooc)

I have started as stated here.
http://www.evernight.com/boards/canon/v ... php?t=3761

This is going to be a pretty in-depth RP more on one side than they other. The kingdom side may be a little to much for some and you need not participate in that side of it.

A general lay out of the land will be part of my first post after I have a few of the People/kingdoms/lands that people wish to RP with. Having them all be friendly would be boring so some rivalries and dislikings among the lands would add depth.

Basically all I have set down to be part of it is a basic three (or whatever number) "kingdom" spread where the main fighting will be done. A line of first advance so to speak. A large Empire just to the east that is coming under attack and will keep the worst of the enemy busy until the empire is destroyed.

I will post my "land" and as others post yours give a general area that it dwells in south, west, north of some already mentioned land mark just so every one can keep things straight.

While the Quest part of this RP travels threw your land you are some what responsible for controlling much of the country side, what is there and what happens.

Any race you want to bring in for Good or Evil go a head(with in reason).

I will ask that mages are kept low keyed. My thought is that a single mage holds a limited amount of power but a team of mages is quite powerful.

Land of: Fertile Valley (A combination of two nations.)

Fertile Valley sets just to the west of a unpassably mountain range that ends near the southern of edge of Fertile Valley. The Empire is just east of the mountain range. Rivers from the mountains foot hills flow through Versal that sits just to the west of a large forest(Dark Wood) wedged right up against the mountain. The area is north of the heat to the south and south of the chill of the north.

Versal: A land of 3 rivers that over flow their banks so that you could set your calendar by them. A land of fertile plenty, with the richest soil most have ever seen. The people are humble and strong of back. The average height of males is about 2 yards tall. The people are common looking brown of hair and eye with creamy skin. They mainly export food. Importing lots of stuff. Military: Primarily light Infantry (double cross bows, round shields) Flag: Brown with a single green leaf in the center.

Dark Wood: A land of deep forest and covering canopy. Just as stubborn as their farming neighbors though shorter in height. Every person knows how to fire long bows, those to weak to shot make arrows. They are a people of hunters and gathers for the most part. The get extra food from Versals and the goats of their people who live on the unforested edge of the mountains. They are talented carvers of the Dark Trees. They are people of dark eyes and hair with pale skin. Main export lumber and Dark Wood carved into weapon Handles. Nobles from other areas pay insane prices for Dark Wood bows simple so they can boast that they own one. Military: Archers, Scouts. Flag: deep Purple with a black tree in profile.

Name:Carth
Home: Versal
Race: Human/male
Age: 20
Height: 6' 1"
Weight: 203 lbs.
Hair: Brown
Eyes: Hazel

Magic: Belongs to a blood line of almost witches. His abilities almost stand outside himself. His abilities are from a spirt who has entered into a mutual prosperous parasite relationship with his blood line. Very good a guessing the weather and has feelings about thing. Has some abilities with the elements as well, among other things.

General Appearance:
Looks as most the people from his home do. Broad shoulder and strong arms. Unremarkable face. Simple home spun cloths, mostly brown in color. tough work boots and a simple all purpose hunting knife. Hair worn depending on when he had his last cut. Tough and strong Carth has rough hands and a open smile.

Items/Possessions: Walking staff/Feeling stick of his blind father, made from dark wood and capped in steel at both ends, stands about shoulder high. Carth has few other possessions, all the money he has ever made went into keeping himself and his father housed, clothed and feed.

History: Born to a woman from outside Versal and a blind Versal man Carth had spent his life in Versal farming and working. With his father blind and his mother dead Carth had to work hard from dawn to dusk since he was 13. He knows his mother was something of a sage and knows it was passed on to him but still has few answers.

OK, I think I'll try to join this thread, hehe.

Land of: Alistria

Alistria is a land made up of natures extremes, to a degree. Although it is a land with many magnificent creatures and untold secrets, it is very much a mageless land. The Kingdom rests where Darkwood begins to thin and become the Alistrian Plains. to the north of the kingdom are the mountainous, frosty peaks of Storms Peak. To the south is the bogs an hotter climates. To the west is the Sea of Boulder. Right in the very center of Alistria is the ruins of an ancient, nameless, but great city, now covered thickly in a dence rain forest.

Alistrian Plains: A land made up of as its title describes, plains. Grassy plains with very few trees that have been naturally growing there. The people are close nit, prefering to live in one city unless nessecary. Only the wheat farmers, horse breeders and trainings, choise to live out on the plains. They are a strong, honourable people, averaging in a height of five foot eight inches. Their hair is most commonly golden blonde, but there are the occasional red head. Their skins are mostly tanned from all the horse riding that they do. They mainly export a breed of horse that they do not use at all, although they are a very good quality and reliable breed none the less, they prefer to keep their prized breeds within their own land for their own use. These prized quality breeds they use for riding and in combat.
They import alot of their leather items, food from Versal and metal from Stormy Peaks. Their military consists of mostly cavalry troops; light cavalry(shortswords, throwing spears and round shields), Heavy cavalry (long swords, round shields, lances, field plate armour).
Flag: A rearing golden horse on a field of green.

Storms Peak: The mountainous land to the north of the Alistris. These people are very tall in height, ranging from eight foot to twelve foot. they have blueish, thick skin and greyish-white hair. They are very peaceful to the point of being a fault. But their main trade is in the ores that they mine in the mountains. Ranging from iron to an ore called Stormsore, a unique metal that is only found in the Storms Peak mountains. Their main import is food from Versal and they export much of their ore to Alistria. There military, although quite small, consists of Hammer men and a few rock throwers.
Flag: A siloette of human on a field representing snowy mountains.

The Sea of Boulders: Aptly named for when the sea rages, it throws up large boulders that can devistate a fleet better then any pirate could. No people live here, very few people risk getting hit by the massive boulders that are churned up.Cliffs surround the sea and so it has an endless supply of boulders to draw from.

The Ancient City: A land that the inhabitants of Alistria fear above all others. This city and the dense forest that surrounds it, holds a collection of different creatures, both evil and good in nature. There have been sightings of half-horse, half-human creatures, and half-human, half-bull creatures. There have also been stories of great magnificent horses with one beautiful horn protruding from between its eyes, and stories of a coal black horse with flaming mane and tail. This place also negates magic for some strange reason that is as of yet unknown. One of this ancient cities many secrets. This Negating aura over the land stops all enchantments and castings, both holy and unholy.

Horsemenship - excelent rider
Marksmenship with thrownig spear - he hits the target more times then not.

General Appearance:
Tall, Strong, in shoulders, arms, back and legs. He is handsome. Wears his black under armour clothing most of the time. He does little less then ride and train except for sleep and eating.

Items/Possessions: A longsword, throwing spear, lance, suit of field armour, dagger. All his money went into purchasing his armour and weaponry and his warhorse. He does do odd jobs in order to get money for food and maintenance of his armour.

History: His family have all been KNights and so he trained to be one since he was very young. His father who was the commander of the High Commanders personal guard and his mother, who was the daughter of the High commander, and also in the Personal Guard. His oldest brother died when he was scouting the Ancient City, none know how it happened, he did not return, so they assume he did die. His younger sister also disappeared in the Ancient City when she went to find her brother. Harthar has not yet gotten over their deaths, but he has been forbidden by his parents to go near the Ancient City.

My land:

Grand Empire of Wiastonz (Wia Empira)

Location: South of the bogs of Alistra and south of Versal, on the banks along the Wia River and its tributaries running down from the mountains to the southern seas and the bay of Bistara, an excellent placid natural harbor. Is along major routes from all directions with excellent land roads to the east and west, riverine contact to the people in the north, and access to the oceans from the south.

Environment/Native peoples: In the northern part of the empire, the environment is mostly coniferous forest and mountains, boasting of a considerable population of both Gold and Azure dragons, which have been domesticated by the elven and drow tribes that cohabit the woods with them. As you go further south, the coniferous forest changes to tropical rain forest extrodinarily quickly. The tropical rain forests are populated mostly by humans and nagas (primarily female creatures with human torsos, 4 arms and the lower portion of a snake) as well as the occasional Were-Jaguar. Further south, close to the southern seas, the jungle gives way to narrow strip of salt marshes along the shoreline of the bistara bay. The delta of the Wia river provides some of the richest farming in the world, although the river never, ever floods. In the southern portion of the empire, sentient native life forms consist of mostly humans and the Grahil; thickly built upright lizardmen 2-3 times the size of humans with crocodile-like heads.

Economic Infrastructure: In the northern part of the empire, the economy is sustained by mining in the mountains, ranching dragons and off-shore banking, as the vaults inside the drow caves are among the safest in the world. In the middle part of the empire, the method of economic support is hunting, gathering, mining and the raising of cattle in certain areas of the forest. In the southern part of the empire, economic sustanence comes mostly from trading, manufacturing and farming. Trade goods are hauled around the empire by dragons.

Cities Worth Mentioning: The capital city of the empire is Tenoctilis, located in the middle of the empire. The major city in the northern part of the empire is Drakonis. The major city in the southern part of the empire is Dyran, a major manufacturing and trade center.

Political Infrastructure: The Empire is led by an emperor/emperess (no shit sherlock, what did you think it was led by, a president?) Each race suceeds the throne in a rotational schedule (i.e: a human becomes the emperor, then a grahil, then a were-jaguar etc.) to prevent power struggles among the races.

Military Structure: Pikemen and crossbowmen/ longbowmen as line infantry, built around a core of mages/naga witch doctors, grahil and naga heavy infantry and dragons. Are experts at logistics and siegecraft. Very little to no cavalry used because horses are not native to imperial lands and the people of Wiastonz have a long standing perception that the Alistrians are price-gouging bastards. Also has a large navy consisting of galley/sailing ship hybrids with lateen sails and grahil rowers (because they can subsist on salt water and are much stronger than humans) that disgorge liquid fire, huge dragon carriers that hold up to 100 dragons and small ships with only 2 banks of oars that also disgorge liquid fire and are very swift.

Flag: a large black dragon with a sword in each of its four arms on a sky blue background.
