How about: The Flamingo! Inspires terror in all with his.. uh.. vague pinkness!!! aha! be afraid.. be very afraid....

and a stickleback is a kinda fish. Quite common over here... but deadly!!!! oooh.... j/k. *L*..

Anyways.. I was actually thinking cuttlefish but obviously got it mixed up. Noticed that after I re-read the posts. Anyways. His techno eyes can see images through all known forms. They are also x-ray capable so that he can see hidden items on people. Just a little extra info.

And I've heard of Flogging Molly too! Just didn't click with the lyrics... does that make me quasi-cool? Like the diet coke of cool?

Kudos to the person that can quickly guess where that's sorta ripped from. Not exactly hard so it doesn't earn a cookie.

You're the Diet Coke of Evil!

Austin Powers... but I don't remember exactly which one. I think the second one.

Hahaha, The Humuhumunukunukuapua'a! (State Fish of Hawaii... what can I say? Also a Triggerfish... of DOOM.)

And yes, I guess you can be the Diet Coke of Cool, because you know of Flogging Molly too... The lead singer is so small! I was like six inches away when they came here, it was great.

(And I've personally never heard of a stickleback... I'm used to tropical fish, I guess)
I was so mad, I could have chewed up nails and spit out paper clips.

I'm surprised you can even say it full stop. *L* what a mouthful.

I'm not sure what a trigger fish is either.. but hey. *shrugs* The world is full of whacky and mysterious things.

Oh and I just had to put some kind of quote or another in my sig-line... so there you go... An extra large double choc-chip cookie to anyone who can guess the singer of the song..

Oh and Khavi's quote is there too, cause I agree with everyone else.. it's priceless *LOL*
I'm an expert on shakespeare,
And that's a hell of a lot,
But the world don't need scholars,
As much as I thought.

The Triggerfish: A fish with a 'trigger' on its top and its bottom than it can stick out or retract, so enemies can't swallow it and it can prevent itself from being pulled out of a hidey-hole by strong current or predator.

And it took me a good year to properly pornounce Humuhumunukunukuapua'a. But 10 years in hawaii and you can learn to pronounce just about any word they throw at you.

And damn those lyrics are familiar but I can't place them... gah.

Just to jump on the messing with sig lines bandwagon...

And there should be some kind of weapon or band named Extraplanar Beaver. And the next operative will be the ever-frightening Milk Snake. Or the Ghost Crab.

So I was just accused of posting a novel. I'd like to apologize if the length is a deterent. *grins* It's not my longest post ever, though it certainly isn't my shortest either. I just happened to have a lot to work with all of a sudden.
To be true to yourself and get caught,
Or to betray who you are and remain hidden.
Shakespeare was wrong.
That is the real question.

I know...I just thought your description was amusing. *giggles* Besides, if it had upset me I would have posted "Some bitch just accused me of posting a novel. Fuck her and enjoy the post." *more giggles*

I thought I was the one who was using "Novel" as a description of posts. You didn't steal that from me, did you Gem????

BTW, I'm still around, I read the OOC thread a lot, just never know what to say. :P

Anyhow, I'm going out of town for the evening. I've read what posts are currently in the thread, and I can see I'll have some work to do when I get back. Hope you don't mind waiting a couple days. I know it'll kill me. *grins* Have a nice weekend everyone!

And now, for this regularly sceduled message of people with way too much free time on their hands:

Paulo Coelho is awesome. He is the shiznit, one of the biggest bestselling living authors in the known world (52,000,000 books in 117 countries translated into 41 languages), and is one of my role-models as a writer. I have all sorts of heroes, Zach de la Rocha and Tom Morello of Rage Against The Machine being but two of them, and I've lost more heroes than some ever have.

Stop reading this post and read The Alchemist. Out of curiosity, does anyone else have a book that they're reading that they'd like to share?

PS. I third the hating on allergies.

Actually, I'm becoming a Terry Pratchett fan with his Discworld series. The first one is The Color of Magic. But, it's a fantasy book more on the side of Hitchhikers Guide being on the Sci Fi side. ;)

I recently finished reading Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett (hilarious), as well as Hitchikers Guide...and now I'm reading The Witching Hour by Anne Rice since I've read all of her vampire novels that don't greatly involve the Mayfair witches and now want to know what the hell she's talking about. *grins* It's good...just long.

After that I'll be reading Arrows of the Queen by Mercedes Lackey (I think). That's a recommendation from Mr. BINK person *grins* As were Good Omens and Hitchhikers...

Yay for books! Last summer I read 19...just one shy of my goal. I doubt I'll do that well this summer with my current job situation (time consuming...my last summer job involved sitting in a hammock, looking comfortable, and reading), but I'll try.

I've read every book thats walked in and out of this house. I read something like a book every other day last summer. I've been know to stay up all night reading in bad light.

Next book I'm going to read is the Salmerilion(sp?) By Tolken. Woos! Apperantly it's very difficult and confusing to read.

Don't bother. Few people read it and liked it. Most regretted it.

I'd recommend the album instead. It's remarkable. See Blind Guardian - Nightfall in Middle Earth.

Erg, I agree with Solik. The Silmarillion was a gift, so I can't give it away, and being that I have this hatred of burning, maiming, or even throwing books away, I'm stuck with it. I read it once.

I (heart) reading. I just read a book called Pirates! by Christina Rees... nexr on my list is Heretic, by Bernard Cornwell.

And if you want a truely awesome read... go find Red Dwarf, by Grant Naylor. It has a TV show based off of it, but the book rules.

I've just finished reading all 8 books so far released in the Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind. They're great reads believe me, grab them if you can find the time.

I read books like they're going out of fashion, just bought terry Pratchet's Fifth Elephant, but my favourite of his books has to be Interesting Times. I'd recommend that to you Rak. And yeah, Terry Pratchett definately does for Fantasy what Adams does for Sci-fi.

Hmm, what else, oh yeah, I'm also trying to get into the Wheel of Time series. Slow reading. Trust me on this.

Umm, also reading Thus Spoke Zarathustra by Neitzsche, a philosophical viewpoint told in story form. It was written in the 1880's and basically gives Christianity a kick in the pants, as well as criticising marriage and peace. In the book he tries to put across the idea that the human race is stagnating and that we are not the end, we are "naught but the bridge between human and Superman. We must overcome ourselves, through death we open the way." He attacks religion as a way of controlling our lives. He attacks government as another control. He also says that we can never love another because we can never truly love ourselves.

*ahem*. Sorry about that. It's intense reading, and like other philosophy books you can't help but discuss after you'e read. I'm also reading Plato: Republic and Aristotle: The Politics.

Gem, the Stand is a good book, but if you like Steven King try and read Bag of Bones. That was chilling stuff.

And Khavi. Red Dwarf rules!!

Rimmer: Go to Red Alert.
Kryten: But sir, you do realise that that will mean changing the bulb.

I've definately waffled on enough. But as a new question.. what bands are you all into?[/i]

I've read a few chapters of bag of bones but the book got horribly mangled by one of my siblings. *grrrs*
Bestest Steven King book I've read is Rose Madder.

And I'm going to read the Samirillion cause it's the only book that I have and haven't read yet...and I can't go get more books fromthe lybrary cause I owe late fees. *shifty look* heh.
