At my dinner table I sit. In front of me two small cartons from the local Chinese joint. Mmm, sesame chicken, and vegetable fried rice, nothing on earth better for certain. But wait... I've nothing to drink. Damnit! Well my darling dinner you'll have to wait a bit more, but worry not, I'll return. MWAHAHA. I rise from my chair, and walk around the table. To the refigerator for a mountain dew. As I set I hear a sound from behind me.
CRRRRRRRCK
I stop in my tracks, slowly turning to look behind me. The sound also stops. Nothing there, but my Chinese meal. Hmm, but wait wasn't it near the edge of the table, not the center, hmm the hunger must be getting to me. I resume my trek to the fridge.
CRRRRRRRCK
I stop again, turning once more. Now I know I didn't but the cartons on this side of the table. Perhaps the house in on a slant. Yes, that must be it.
Shacking off the nervous feelings I return on my walk for a beverage.
CRRRRKKK PLUNK CRRRRK
I inhale sharply, turning once more afraid of what I might see. And there it is, right at my feet, the sesame chicken and vegetable fried rice. I back away, and then turn, and run, run for my life. Out of the kitchen, out of the house, and to my car in the driveway. I look back, it was gaining on me. I struggle with the car door, and one I mange to get in I quickly slam it behind me. Watching the carton approach in the side view mirror, I turn the key in the ignition.
RRRWWRRWW RRRRRWWWRRRW
Start damnit!
RRRWWWRRRWW VRRRROOOM.
I sigh and slam on the acceleration. Mile after mile. Surely this is far enough I stop along the side of the road, stepping out of the car, looking around. No sign of the Chinese food. but on the door handle... MSG!
