:O
Wonderful job dude!
I had placed the FH history manual on the to do pile.
*looks at the towering skyscraper of notes on desk*
But after seeing the incredible work you have done thus far, Im gunna start working on it again. Starting with the history of the elves.
Now comes the time Im sure ye might have guessed. I gots a couple suggestions.
I'll start off with the Rules of the Vampire race. First being rule 3. Even though it is a good way of explaining how vampires are created, it seems to me as being a tad overused these days. This doesn't mean that this oldie should not be used. Perhaps certain clans of Vampires create themselves in the blood letting fasion. Others can say, use a form of ritual.
Eg:
An alter surrounded by fresh blood. Individual placed on the alter and killed by a ritual dagger. Chanting or magic places demons or evil powers within the dead body, which in turn gives birth to a new vampire.
Or perhaps some form of virus, creature, bug etc... that transfers the vampiric style onto another. Something to debate over.
Which reminds me, I knew a while ago we used ta chat over ICQ, though when my comp crashed I lost it. Could I perhaps get it again? Might make it easier to compile ideas for the manual.
Next rule I thought heavily about is 11. There should be nothing realy stopping a vampire from entering into a building or home of another. That is
unless the family or building has some form of a religeous icon within. And since in these days of major troubles, people will be looking for hope and will turn towards gods for just that.
Other than those two points, I have an idea to add into the history of the Vampire. It ties in closely to the Dark Elves.
Back in the old days, when the vampires ruled, the elven race was just one race. A minor portion of the elves wished to remain on the vampires side. During the war these elves faught for the vampires, but after dissention came to the vampire ranks these elves gave up. Displeased, the majority of elves banished these elves to the Mountain of Chaos, in which they began to build their subterrainian homeland. When time came to the point that very few clans were left, and they were now being hunted, a couple of the remaining clans fled to the mountains. Here they met up with their "faithfull" followers and tried to assert themselves. However, the dark elves were well rooted in their ways and in turn banished the vampires to even lower depths of the mountains. Here they have twisted into monstrocitys of nature, which to this day are now hunted by the dark elves as purely game. Despite this fact, the vampires are well held up in their subterainian hell that the dark elves dread the thought of a frontal assault on them.
Now this story line here can follow closely along with two of the clans mentioned. Namely the Ta-Urk and the Bloodleaf. Though I'm sure different broods can be thought of for this situation.
Which brings me to a quaint idea that just popped into my brain. In the story that I'm writeing for Jurret, their party is going to be faced with an army of hobgoblins. This army is currently held up in the ruins of Kazoars castle. At first I was planning on going with the plot that this army was going to attack a kingdom south of the chaos mountains. Yet somehow this story seemed a little weak until now. What if their motivation to hit that kingdom, was due to the workings of a very manipulative vampire. One that is part of the, oh lets say, the Vixin clan. Her reasons could be a personal vendetta against those that hunted her. And a way for the party to scout out this info, get captured and get out alive will be thanks to Jurret. Because he is a dark elf, and the dark elves were semi helpful to the vampires in the past.
That is if the above story goes over well with everyone else. And I believe thats it.
On an off topic here, busy busy busy, so it might take a day or two to get a reply from Shadow to anything you all do. I'd like to try and keep in touch with what is posted but things get all hectic blah blah blah. I know everyone practicly has the same problems so this should not be surprising, nor harshly thought against. I shall do my best however.
On another off topic, I am still working on my personal website. Which some might know will include all of the Faith Hills threads (- Were Island... Sorry to sound pesimistic but I doubt they can be recovered), and the site will also host the Faith Hills Manual. Plus other pieces ranging from music, literature and computer programming. Im even reserving space for you Jake, for your artwork. Though it seems that ye may get more attention if ye placed them on Sombers beautfuly made domain, rather then a
http://www.com/somethingORother site. Be that as it may, their is always room for anything anyone wants on the site and I shall now wander off aimlessly rambling to myself.
Ta ta for now.
