Order of the Sacred Monkey

"Its too hot, we need to stop" whined a short, somewhat chubby soldier. He took a sip from his flask. The taste was bitter, all he wanted was water but so far none had been found. "Youd think in a blasted jungle there would be water. Gawd, why did we have to get stuck in this place." He stopped suddenly as he noticed his comrade staring at him. His comrade was much older, tall and well built, and at the moment had a rather disgusted look on his face. "What?"

"What? What?!? Oh like you dont know. Its your fault we are here!" he yelled. And it was true. Several days earlier the two men were among twenty other men, all part of a military unit transporting goods to the front lines via a sea vessel.

"I have no idea what your talking about" said the short man as he he folded his arms and shifted his head as if to dodge the old mans gaze.

"Oh you dont do you? Well, maybe you remember this. Oooh, capn, i found a short cut, all we have to do is go right through these islands. What, danger? No, its perfectly safe, trust me" said the old man as he did a less than flattering impression of his companion.

"Well...its not my fault, we hit a reef. The reef wasnt on the map" he retorted in a rather matter of fact tone.

"Im sure the dead crew forgives you then. Gawd, of all people to be stuck on an island with. You know...." the old man was cut off as a savage wraaaaaa echoed through the jungle around them. The two men stood frozen. Suddenly the jungle around them began to move as several chimps burst from the forest and surrounded them. The two men let out a feminine wail as they huddled together. Then from behind came another chimp, much larger than the rest and carrying a crude net which was thrown on top of the two soldiers. Once again they screamed, this time, the chubby one passed out. His companion watched on terrified as the chimps closed in around him excitedly calling out to each other in their primal language, then he too lost conciousness.

When the men awoke they found themselves tied to wooden poles located within a small jungle village. There were several crude huts placed in the center of the village, surrounding what appeared to be some kind of temple. Around the village was a high fence made of green logs tied together by some kind of thick rope, the ends sharpened. Several large chimps patrolled the area, spears made of carved wood and stone in their hands. "Good gawd" said the short soldier, "were being held captive in some kind of freakin monkey fortress."

"Nice short cut" said the other mockingly.

Just then there seemed to be a commotion coming from the temple. A large chimp, with a crown of colorful leaves upon his head, took a seat at the bottom of the temple where a chair had been placed by several female chimps only moments before. The crowned chimp let out several grunts and hoots. Slowly a woman emerged from the temple, a human woman dressed in long flowing robes with a small sack tied to her waist, carrying a bowl of fruits and raw meat. She kneeled slowly by his side, holding the bowl out so the chimp could take what he wished. Then, placing the bowl at her feet, she sat on both knees, facing the two men, but looking only at the ground.

"This is kinda strange..."

The crowned chimp let out a loud bark to silence the men, then touched the woman gently. She nodded, and produced a golden statue with several beautiful gems imbedded in it.

"What you think that monkeys gonna do with the pineapple?" whispered the short soldier. His companion just shook his head.

The crowned chimp then lept from his chair, and charged towards the two men, slapping his hands and stomping his feet as he neared. He then picked up several small stones and hurled them at the soldiers, just barely missing the old ones head. The men screamed once again, and the chimp let out several breathy laughs.

The woman began to speak. "Now that you have seen the great power of our lord, you will be offered a choice. Kneel before him and become his servants, or deny him and suffer his wrath."

"Wah?" began the old soldier. "You mean to say that you can speak. Why didnt you say somethin before."

"Yeah, and whats with the pineapple?"

"This fruit is a gift from our master, and the source of our lords great power."

The crowned chimp spoke in a low gurgled tone, ”Ba-Nuh-Nas!”

”Did he just say bananas?” The short man began to tremble.”He must be hungry…what if he means to eat us! Oh im sure to be first, damn me for my plumpness, I am too appetizing for my own good!”

”No…I think he is saying Barnabas, but how did…”

”Enough! Speak your answer!”

The old soldier shook his head. "Theres absolutely no way we are...."

"Were in!" interupted the short soldier.

"Are you kidding me, you want to serve a blasted monkey!?!"

"Well...maybe hes a nice monkey who will give us water. Besides, im too young to die."

"You are too stupid to be kept alive."

The woman approached holding the golden pineapple out before her. "Now, gaze upon our Gods gift and accept your duties. Become the warrior servants of our lord!"

The two men looked at each other, then the pineapple. Suddenly a strange fog seemed to cloud their heads, and the world was covered in its eerie haze. They wished to scream, but it seemed that control over their own bodies was no longer an option. They could only obey.

"We will serve only the Sacred Monkey"
"We will serve only the Sacred Monkey"

Once again the crowned chimp let out a breathy laugh.

In the beggining there were surely SOME monkeys...somewhere....

The Sacred Monkey demands obedience!

1. Stay active, by this i mean you must be able to play your turns at least once every other day. (every day preffered)
2. Do not attack anybody without scouting them first
3. Do not attack anyone in a clan outside of a war with that clan unless you are approved to do so by the Alpha
4. Do not scout/loot/burn outside of war unless authorized by the scum agm or the gm.
5. If you attack a ug during peace, be certain to send the pre and post attack scouts to the gm.
6. Pay attention to the banner (that nice set of text on your main screen.) The information is usually important.
7. Do not cheat. If your caught abusing a bug or cheating in any form, your out of here, and probably the game as well.

We dont need any rogues or cowboys. If you arent willing to follow the rules as listed, dont bother applying. Any charter ammendments will be posted on the banner when they are changed.

Everyone must have either AIM, ICQ, or IRC available for use. Communication is key to success. If you cannot attend war chats, message the Alpha either in game or on one of the previously listed messangers to let him or her know. If you need any help with the above messangers (either finding or using) just ask, someone will be more than happy to help you. Its also asked that upon acceptance into OSM that you message the gm with your most frequent online times, to help in the planning of wars and other guild activities.

Posting is not mandatory, but it is highly suggested. An active clan on the forums is the sign of a strong clan in the game. If you have any questions about making a posting account, or would like to request a posting icon, message the gm and s/he will be more than happy to help. You may also post questions in the New Players Area of Tempers Ball.

Forum Rules:

1. Do not make an ass of yourself
2. Show respect to your fellow players, whether you like them or not.
3. Do not post bug reports on the baords, over ICQ, or in IRC, unless specifically asked to by staff.
4. Do not spam or post redundant messages.
5. Do not post kingdom numbers or kingdom names on the boards.
6. Pornography, piracy, or other illegal material is not allowed.
7. Do not post links or advertizements to hate or anti-Evernight sites. This includes racial, ethical, or sexually related sites.
8. Do not post accusations of cheating on the boards.
9. Do not claim that threads are closed to the general public. As long as people are adding to the thread and not spamming or stalking then everyone is welcome in every thread.
10. No excessive vulgarity. As long as its part of the general post its acceptable, but when your swearing just to swear it will be edited.
11. No revealing Voice alts.
12. Do not do anything that you or the Voice's think is unwarranted or in bad taste. 13. All posts in this forum are considered in character. If you would like to traditionally Role Play with your character please add (RP) or (RP Invite) for Role Play or Role Play Invite only to the end of your thread title.

The Ranks:

Rank 1: The Alpha is the big banana. There may be more than one Alpha at any time (dont question it, just go with it!), never more than three. S/he has the final say in all clan decisions.
Rank 2: The Monkeys are the second in command. They advise the Alpha, and are often put in charge of certain aspects of the clan.
Rank 3: The Ape is often the squad leaders
Rank 4: Prosimians are trusted members of the clan.
Rank 5: Proto-Primates are full members of the clan.
Rank 6: Insectivores are the most likely of all ranks to get booted. They are the new initiates who have yet to prove themselves.

If the Alpha dissapears for any reason, the task of leading will fall on the Monkeys. If they are gone, then keep going down the ranks. If it gets to the point where a Insectivore is leading the clan....well, we are all probably screwed.

Do a good job...get promoted. Simple enough eh? New members will stay at rank 6 until they have displayed a willingness to be involved in the guild and guild wars (theres more to a guild than just wars). Further promotions will be issued as the GM sees fit. They may based on several things including (but not limited to) actively posting, general guild activity, helping the GM and being just a nice guy/gal.

A Note from the Gm:

This is a game guys. I want to create a guild where we can all have fun. I dont want to get us tangled up in politics or board drama. I dont want you guys to have to worry about anything other than what to do with all your land (or lack of it should it come to that). I am not as agressive as other GMs. I tend to look for the best possible fight, and if i cant find one that meets my personal standards, we wont war. Some dont care for that. Its possible that we may build for more than a week between wars. I try to avoid this, but like i said, you cant always find the war your looking for.

Those who can deal with my laid back approach to this game will find OSM to be a great guild full of active members who arent just good players, but also great people. Thank you for considering OSM. ~Spades
