The Society of 1337 (1337)

Tucked away deep within Mount Haxorz, named after its first owner, is a majestic city with no name, entirely carved from the mountain’s almost indestructible adamantine. Haxorz was a man who lived thousands of years ago; he was a loner and quite a quirky fellow. Nobody knows much about his life, only a few facts are known. At one point in Haxorz’ life he came into a vast amount of wealth. Nobody knows how he found or made all his riches, all that is known is that he did have them. Soon after becoming rich, he found a great mountain of adamantine and had it burrowed out and a great city carved within it. Nobody is certain of how many people it took to build it, or how many years it took to complete, but the shear beauty of this city is still revered and its creation is shrouded in mystery. Haxorz, truly a strange man, lived alone in his mighty city for most of his life.

When Haxorz death was coming near, he came to the realization that he had no friends, no children, no woman and nobody to remember him. His solo life had given him nothing. After months of consideration, he decided upon the best way to solve his problems. He would hold a tournament, the greatest tournament this land had ever known. He sent out thousands of invitations all around Tonan. Anybody would be allowed to enter these gladiator type games. He had set the date for 6 months after the invitations were set, this way he figured these men would have a chance to train a little before they face each other. As a prize he would offer the winner his great city and palace. A prize that even kings would want, and many did, many kings sent their greatest warriors to this battle. People started showing up about a week before the announced day for the tournament. They were all settled into the many deserted houses of the great city under the mountain. As each warrior arrived, Haxorz assigned them a number, and when two thousand people had finally arrived, he closed the gates to the mighty city and let nobody else enter.

The tournament was set up to last a month. There would be one battle a day for 20 days. For each battle 100 men would be released into the arena, a bloody battle to the death would happen and the last 5 people standing would go to the next round. This would happen 20 times until the last 100 men were left. Then there were 5 fights with 20 men in each, to the last man standing. The last 5 from these fights were forever considered the elite of Tonan. These 5 great men then had a few days of rest, and then one last battle. One man rose gloriously above the rest. 1999 men were dead, and one was standing. The only identification on him was the number drawn on his back, 1337. This number would forever be affiliated with the elite. This man was standing alone in the littered arena. After so many battles, he was still barely scratched. His name was Grasky Graves, often referred to as GG. He had been sent to this tournament by his king from a kingdom across the land, and rumor had it that GG’s reputation was already great in his kingdom. He had been supposed to claim this city for his king, but there was no way he would give up this treasure.

When Haxorz died a few months later, the city under the mountain was now GG’s. With all his riches he decided to populate his new found city. He started by having a great statue of his god Leto constructed in the town center. Leto is known as being somewhat chaotic, and there is much chaos in battle. He held many tournaments, and would allow the greatest warriors to stay within his city and live off of his riches. Slowly his population grew and the society under the mountain strived. GG imported the finest women he could find in exotic places. Once every house within the city was filled, GG stopped holding tournaments for entry into the city, instead he held them to keep his men fit and entertained.

After a few years, GG’s first king, the one who had sent him to the tournament, grew more and more furious that GG hadn’t returned and given him his treasure. The king assembled a great amount of troops. More than 10 thousand men traveled towards the unbreakable mountain. GG heard news of this and prepared his population for battle. The war raged for 3 days before the king’s troops were annihilated. GG’s population was much stronger than the king anticipated. Although the city did have losses; 327 of GG’s men lost their lives. These men were celebrated for a week after the battle. This was the first great battle the society faced. But surely not the last, from then until now there have been literally thousands of armies who tried to take the mountain by force, none prevailed. The ruler of the city has changed many times, each time the title was determined by a tournament. This entire society is based on war, it is what its members strive to do and it is what they live for, they will war whenever the opportunity arises. However the legendary GG has not been forgotten, he is still mentioned several times daily, if not by his legend, then in the society’s greeting: gg good sirs.

This is the 1337's 2nd age

The Society of 1337 is an elite guild of veteran players. The only means for entry into the guild is to be invited or to contact the GM before applying. To be accepted into the ranks of 1337, you must:

*Be very active - logging into your kingdom at least once a day.
*Obey all rules – this includes guilds rules which can be found below and Temper’s Ball rules.
*You must email the GM and include this information:

-Player name
-Realm name
-Why you think we should accept you
-How much time you are willing to devote to the game and boards
-Current game experience i.e. (How long you have been playing, past guilds etc)
-Contact information (email, ICQ, AIM, MSN)

Once the GM has reviewed your email, he will contact you on a messenger to discuss your application further, or if all is well you will be accepted once your email is reviewed.

If you apply without being invited or emailing the GM, your application will simply be denied.

ICQ or MSN is mandatory in the guild for communication purposes, any one of these will do, although most of the Canon community uses ICQ for game related things, so ICQ would be preferable.

Rules in 1337 are pretty simple yet highly enforced. If a rule such as attacking a kingdom without permission is broken you will be immediately booted and forsaken to the enemy. But keep in mind attacking another kingdom without permission is not the only rule we punish this harshly to. Here are the rest of the rules, a description and a punishment to be handed out if the rule is broken.

*Be loyal to the guild - If you leave the guild during the age without a good reason, you will be banished, never shall you be welcome to return, this rule is to prevent members from guild jumping to other guilds then returning.

*No cheating - If we find out you were cheating in any way, such as having two accounts, you will be booted and banned from the guild immediately without any warning. We will also give admin your information.

*Be online for wars - If you cant make it to a war for any reason or plan on being late, contact the GM or AGM immediately telling him the reason why you won’t be attending. If you miss 2 wars you will be demoted and you will be warned, if you continue you will be booted, unless as previously stated you warn the GM or AGM of your absence or lateness.

Wars are announced on the guild banner, it is expected that you read the guild banner daily to keep up to date with current guild affairs.

Wars will generally be ran in IRC, it is a good idea that you get this program. You can get a IRC client from http://www.mirc.com

*Obey all Temper's Ball rules which can be found at the below URL:

1) Do not make an ass of yourself
2) Do not post bug reports on the boards, over ICQ, or in IRC, unless specifically asked to by staff.
3) Do not spam or post redundant messages.
4) Do not post kingdom numbers or kingdom names on the boards.
5) Pornography, piracy, or other illegal material is not allowed.
6) Do not post links or advertisements to hate or anti-Evernight sites. This includes racial, ethical, or sexually related sites.
Also obey all Guild forum rules:

a) Do not claim that threads are closed to the general public. As long as people are adding to the thread and not spamming or stalking then everyone is welcome in every thread.
b) No excessive vulgarity. As long as its part of the general post its acceptable, but when your swearing just to swear it will be edited.
c) No revealing Voice alts.
d) Do not post personal recruitment threads. There are faith threads created for that purpose.
e) Do not do anything that you or the Voice's think is unwarranted or in bad taste.
f) All posts in this forum are considered in character. If you would like to traditionally Role Play with your character please add (RP) or (RP Invite) for Role Play or Role Play Invite only to the end of your thread title.

Note: These are subject to change or be modified by Evernight staff, they are just a basic guideline.

As a result of one of these rules broken, you may be banned from Temper's Ball, or even banned from Evernight Games, you will be demoted immediately and reviewed by the GM and AGM to see whether or not you should be allowed to stay in the guild.

*If you leave for a few days let the GM or AGM know - Tell him how long you will be gone and when you will be back. It is useful to know this incase of wars and such. If you fail to report your absence you will be demoted temporarily and the GM or AGM will await your explanation. If something along the lines of being sick, having to leave in a hurry for something and other things like that, that is no problem, upon your return you will be given your previous rank.

*Read the guild banner – This is what you see below your kingdom information, higher members of the guild are able to edit this to add news for the entire guild to see. By reading this you will be able to find out when we are going to war and much more (All guild affairs). It is very important that every member reads this daily to keep up with the current status of the guild.

*Have fun - This is expected to be followed by everyone, this is a game, its purpose is fun and entertainment, I also like to see members with a good attitude, the rules are in place to be able to maintain a good functioning guild that poses a threat in the game. :)

As a member of 1337 you are expected and required to follow and obey all these rules and guidelines.

The ranking format and system in 1337 is simple. below describes the name and description of the rank.

(Warchief) This is the GM of the guild, the leader and head of the city. He has final say on every matter involving the guild and his word is the law. If at any time the GM disappears/dies/quits or is not running the guild correctly, members may vote on a new GM.

(Warrior) This is the AGM, second in command to the boss. Because this is an elite guild with amazing players, this will be the main rank of the guild members.

(Trainee) This is an entry rank for those who were not invited to the guild but who sent an application and were accepted. Trainees remain with this title until they have proven that they are capable of being warriors.

(Bartender) Every great guild has a great bar, and this great bar needs a great bartender. This rank will be reserved for the bartender of 1337

(Chained) This is a rank for those who have recently been punished and are on their way to proving themselves once again.

(Prisoner) This is a punishment rank within the guild. If the laws of 1337 are not followed you will be demoted to a prisoner until you regain the guild’s trust.

Because of 1337’s guild structure, there will rarely be promotions. Most members in the guild will already be of AGM rank and those who aren’t probably shouldn’t be. In the rare case where a promotion is to be given, the GM will decide himself who will be promoted and to what rank.

If a member from another guild is caught within our lands doing ANY offensive actions, such as attacking, sorcery, burnings etc. We will give a maximum of 24 hours for the leadership of the acting guild to contact us, on a messenger or Temper’s Ball. If this time is surpassed, we will immediately react to this by simply destroying the acting kingdom, no matter how little or big the severity of the action was.

However if we are contacted we can easily work out something to make everyone happy and prevent the decimation of the acting kingdom or guild.

For your convenience the contacts to the leader of 1337 have been added. (see below)

Here is the GM’s contact, feel free to contact him if you have any questions.
