Charter

(NOTE: This charter is over two years old and will be revamped completely) “I call Barnabas the one great curse, the one enormous and innermost perversion, the one great instinct for revenge, for which no means are too venomous, too underhand, too underground and too petty – I call it the one immortal blemish of mankind.”
-Anon.

The seductive power of Barnabas held sway on many hearts either too weak to break away and think freely or too avid in their quest for power and dominion over the lands and its people. And in this cult of warmongers, vile sorcerers and common thieves, the sweet rot of corruption made its way slowly in the flesh of its fanatics. Among the Elder of the faith none less so then in the minds of the basest of followers. Such was the power of the children of the Red God that their gazes started turning inwards and they plotted against their very own while praising above all their status and rank.

Some were shamed but not enough. The wars were savage, the slaughters barbaric. The rules of war, just like the rule of law, were forgotten or dismissed. Might made right and the followers of Barnabas revelled in the orgiastic rivers of blood. Blood, like wine, flowed freely to quench the thirst of a world gone mad.

“They shall rend the earth, those children of twilight faith, once followers of perverse heresies, now descended into the darkness of the daemon.”
-Aeterna Codex.

In this maelstrom a few minds were wakened. As if held in trance till this moment, they shook off the coils religion had imposed on their consciousness and dared to rise and question their fathers. But they held no answers.

This is the way it must be.

This is the way it has always been.

And these awakened minds screamed in agony as each sword they sent out slew one more innocent life. No longer was it in the name of faith and religion and the glory of ones god but in the name of power and wealth and rank. Weakened by such sorrows and moved with a new and questing spirit they questioned their priests. But they held no answers.

We must not question my son, we must do and follow.

We are the elite of Barnabas, our hands are not guided by petty intrigues but by a higher purpose.

And the further these souls quested the more false the lessons of their god sounded. Until they broke rank.

“It is dangerous to be right in matters on which the established authorities are wrong.”
-Anon.

Thus men, women and children rose as one and the tide of worship turned to the liberating madness of Leto. Like so much litmus discarded on the beach of religion, the amorphous mass of the followers of the Twisted Soul rolled over the lands.

Their rule, like their justice, was no less severe then that the pride of Barnabas had wrought. Where in the past one fire burned, purifying and terrible, now roared a dozen. The innocents of this middle world, caught between the imbalance of the deities and the certainty of damnation, died by legions. The putrefied stink of the deceased poisoned the air and the earth and the minds.

The souls of this mortal world were being extinguished by greed and blindness. What voice of men would be heard, or indeed could be heard? Was salvation possible or simply a mantra of jaded priests?

“The more a religion claims to be the embodiment of justice and fairness, the more tyrannical it is likely to be.”
- Aeterna Codex.

Thus one man freed his mind to follow the justice of Angelique the Fair. Thus this man became known as the Apostate to those which had once called him friend. Thus those that agreed to follow him were in their turn marked with the white hot brand of heresy.

Never, so long as they held breath, would the Apostate and his followers allow for the tyranny of Barnabas and the decadence of Leto to continue. He had seen the horrors that the dominion of the Red Children brought upon the world and to this he would say no longer. He had seen the hypocrisy of the followers of the Twisted Soul and for this they reneged.

In a loose coalition he brought together the brave enough to fight alongside him. Those like minded or touched with just enough madness to take up the sword in the holy crusade.

Thieves, thugs, murderers and gypsies of all sorts they were one and all, now being redeemed by the fairness of their Goddess. A peasant army of growing fanaticism and dedication. A first step for the hegemony of Angelique.

Rules

(NOTE: This charter is over two years old and will be revamped completely) The Apostate- GM.

Prophets- AGMs of The Theocracy of Truth.

Nightmasters- Same as AGMs, trusted explicitly.

Acolytes- Often a squad leader/more responsibility.

Highwaymen- Trusted members.

Rogues- Newer members.

Should the GM be removed/killed/must move on, the AGMS would vote on a new GM.

As a member of Thieves and Thugs you are asked to:

a) Be aware of current guild events.
b) Read the banner daily, this is most important.
c) Show up for guild wars as regularly as possible or let someone know you are not going to be able to attend.
d) Obey all rules in Temper’s Ball:

1. Do not make an ass of yourself.
2. Do not post accusations of cheating (contact the The Theocracy of Truth GM first if you think someone is cheating, he will relay the info to the creators if appropriate).
3. Do not post bug reports (use the email address for this).
4. Do not post kingdom numbers.
5. Do not post redundant messages (no spamming).

*NOTE: Posting on Temper’s Ball is not absolutely mandatory but is strongly recommended, especially in the The Thieves and Thugs threads in the guild forum, as it is important to keep the story of the guild fresh and develop all of the different personalities within our group. Members can be removed for not being able to conduct themselves responsibly on Temper’s Ball, so please obey to rules of the board (its not hard, there are only 5 of them).

Every so often there is a rank evaluation time, when the GM carefully considers each member and what they have accomplished in the guild, and if the player meets all of the requirements (most importantly participation especially in guild wars) then they are promoted one rank. Promotion will be fairly quick as the initial ranks are there to get to know the new players and the later ranks are there to identify greater roles and responsibility within the guild. If you are active and willing to contribute, you will rise quickly.

Do not ask to be promoted. You will be promoted and recognized when the guild leaders think it is time.

Ways to get on the GMs bad side (these will most likely get you booted immediately):

1) Making an ass out of yourself on a public forum(TB) (to be decided at the guilds discretion and among the high ranks.)
2) Randomly attacking/sorcing/scummer other kingdoms.
3) Cheating/OOC spying or any comparable dishonorable act.

If you wish to join The Thieves and Thugs, please send an email to Alias at alias_tt@hotmail.com with the following information:
1) How long you have been playing Canon.
2) A brief summary of your personal Canon history.
3) Your character's name.
4) Whether or not you have ICQ or other messaging services.
5) If you have an interest in Role-play.
6) If you know anyone currently in The Theocracy of Truth.

You can also contact in present guild member through PM on TB or through ICQ if you have our contacts.

Please note that you are more likely to get rejected automatically if you do not contact a member of the guild before applying. Thanks.
