the weight of governing a nation
Sir Riff sits alone in his castle. He contemplates the events of late. A war has been ragged against his allies and he only wonders how long before this beast will enter his lands. He did not inherit his kingdom from his father; he did not win its land from a way; his kingdom was created out of necessity.
After the last war his people were left unprotected and ungoverned. They needed a leader to help them trough their troubled times. He was a mighty soldier during the war and to reward him for his loyalty, the Reavers gave him this land and these people to govern.
Now this soldier sits alone in his castle and wonders what kind of ruler will he be. Will he bring glory to the land and to Foret or will he bring war and death to these people for which he was charged to protect.
He can only wait and pray that if war does fall upon his lands, that Foret will bless him, his people and their swords so that battle will be swift and triumphant.
