I've read Neitzsche, Plato, and Aritotle. *grins* Good stuff they are. I was also a big fan of Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenence. That was a book that I couldn't shut up about once I'd finished it.

Music is something I love in a very general and yet deeply personal way. *smiles* Give me a good piece of music and I won't be able to move...and I'll hardly be able to breathe. My current favorite band (*kicks Solik in the buns for this*) is Nightwish, though I happen to be a HUGE fan of Dave Matthews Band, Pink Floyd, and The Beatles as well. Naturally there are many many more, but I couldn't possibly do my list of music loves justice.

*kicks Mykayla in the buns too* And thanks for getting me obssessed with Nightwish too.

I'm the same way about music. I'd rather listen to music than watch TV or read a book. *smiles*

Music rocks... har har. My bands? Flogging Molly (hehe, i think we went over this once), Hoobastank, Injected... Matchbox 20... Manheim Steamroller! Yeah, I got six bajillion more bands (you should see the size of my CD case), but just like my list of books I love... it's way too long to list here.

And, my lovely Mr. Dyre... you rock. Haha, Flogging Molly and Red Dwarf? I feel faint. I'm just upset that the BBC channel we get here on my island stopped playing Red Dwarf and Monty Python and Blackadder like they always used to... At least they carry Graham Norton.

Oh, and I have the bad habit of buying all my books because I, like Gem, have a problem with late fees and all that... in the end, it's usually cheaper to just buy the damn thing.

Yay Aristotle!

*ahem* Enough waxing poetic about books and music and philosophy, you stupid people are trying to make me all refined...

Isn't a thing wrong with refined....*grins* Though I swear far too much to be refined, ever.

My last lybrary fine was large enough to choke a cow. It was 35$ for 3 books. *blinks*

My dear Miss Khavi. Hoobastank is ace. I've seen them live in Manchester, along with Greenday, Rival Schools, No Doubt and A. I've also seen Aerosmith, Lenny Kravitz, Three colours Red and Sterephonics all at Wembley.

Ok. You'd understand the gravity of that if you were British.

AEROSMITH.

Hahaha, rawk.

Hoobastank came here last summer... but I DIDN'T GET TO GO. I was so upset, my sister went, and I had to stay home. Got home from Saturday Games downtown and saw my sister getting into our friends' van and off they went... grargh.

But I went to Jimmy Eat World and New Found Glory later that summer, so it was all right...

So far the only really big awesome band to come here this summer was Flogging Molly. And The Who is coming in August... But I don't have $65 for nosebleed seats, so that's a stay-at-home.

I'm just waiting for Hoobastank to come back to Hawaii, and for Aerosmith to come for the first time... (I think they might have been here before, but that was before I was born/before I really cared about anything other than Mr. Rogers)

Bands don't always like to come here, for some reason... Luckily we have a good 'underground punk scene', so there's no dearth of cool local bands.

Hm... and so, off to watch Snatch, and then I'll post something with some substance in the story thread.

Favorite Bands (In Order): Rage Against The Machine, (very closely followed by) Godsmack; among my other assorted bands in no particular order are Korn, Marilyn Manson, Metallica (even though Lars needs a swift kick in the nuts), Kamelot, Linkin Park, POD, Smashing Pumpkins, Saliva, Hoobastank (finally something that other people are into) and The Cruxshadows. I also have far too much video game music on my computer, just to prove I am a dorkus.

And Khavi: What's the meaning of you INFRINGING on my use of the name Donovan? *laughs* Kidding, kidding, at least you had the decency to make it a last name.

Nevertheless *goes and "negotiates with" the Hawaiian BBC to reinstate Monty Python and Black Adder...bringing his lightsaber*

Snatch = totally awesome. One of the guys in my Monday/Every Other Friday gaming group is slowly edumacating me in The Way of Good Movies (So far, except Ronin, all involving Jason Stratham...). Lock, Stock etc. I watched monday morning at like 4, and Snatch was this afternoon.

Two movies that are so damn cool! Guy Ritchie is my new hero.

FP, apart from The Cruxshadows, Saliva and Kamelot, I'm into those bands too, Korn is major coookie cool.

My Fav band has to be Bon Jovi, then Incubus, followed closely by Greenday and Linkin Park. I also like old classic rock like White Snake, INXS, Crowded House and Guns and Roses to name but a few.

Mix that up with stuff like Jamie Cullum ((Which is where the quote in my sig-line comes from btw. A song called Twenty Something)), BB King, Johnny Cash, the levellers, Less than Jake, Mata Leo... the list goes on.

Snatch and Lock stock were ace, try checking out The Transporter too.

And on Movies, again it's a varied bunch, but an all time fav has to be A Knight's tale with Heath Ledger, oh and anything with Jet Li or Jackie Chan. Plus I'm a sucker for textbook teen comedies and *coughs* umm... well... disney films

Anyways.. also Anime in all it's forms, from the classic that is Akira, through The Legend of Arislan, Guyver, Patlabor, Macross Plus etc.
I'm an expert on shakespeare,

Hmm... I have to agree, I like the Sword of Truth series as well. I got bored with it after like book three.

I always love fantasy novels, but as for science fiction novels, my favorites were always the ones in the Ender's Game series...

Ender's Game, Speaker for the Dead, Xenocide, and Children of the Mind. Sometimes they are slow reading, and quite long, but excellent I think.

A Knight's Tale was, I have to agree, impossibly delightful.

Jocelyn:'Well, I'd rather be a silly girl with a flower than a silly boy with a horse and a stick.'
Wat:'...It's called a lance, helloooo!'

Other movies... Monty Python movies, all of 'em. Espeically Holy Grail (I can recite most of this movie). The Transporter was good (again... Jason Stratham!), Pirates of the Caribbean (gotta love pirates, and Johnny Depp), and... haha, and here's an odd one, Fargo!

There is of course the required anime loving... Outlaw Star, Spirited Away, Cowboy Bebop. Good stuff all.

Wart: I will Fong you, until your insides are your outsides, your entrails will become your extrails. All the little..... pain.. lot's of pain.

and also

Jocelyn: Sir Ulric, I would know what you will be wearing to the ball tonight...
William: Nothing.
Jocelyn: Well then we shall cause a sensation as I shall dress to match.

oh, and just one more.

William: Have you been robbed sir.
Jeff: Yes.... and also a resounding.. no. It's more an involuntary vow of poverty.

I love that film.

Oh, and here's a quick music quiz, a cookie for each correct answer:

1. Name the band and song: "I think I'm drowning, asphyxiating, I want to break the spell, that you've created."

2. Name the anime piece shown on the video of Korn's Freak on a Leash and also on the front cover of the Follow the Leader album.

3. Band and song again: "Are you locked up in a world that's been planned out for you. Are you feeling like a social tool without a use."

4. Name the band and song featured at the end of Interview with a Vampire.

5. Name the band and song featured at the end of The Matrix.

6. Name of the band and song featured in The Crow when Eric Draven is putting on the make-up.

I just figured I'd say something here, since I was thinking about it today, and starting worrying. *L*

I wasn't trying to offend anyone with any insinuations I was making about the Waitress and the whole joke thing. When I begin writing, and get into it, the story starts to tell itself. I think part of it was me trying to point out that even in the rather ruined future of this story, there would still be some people that would immediately jump to a horrid conclusion if they saw a twenty something man walk in with a small woman who probably would not appear to be anywhere over 16. It's a lot like my own life, actually. :P

My fiance is 5'0", and most people think she's about 15 or less, and they give me(6'3" and look like I'm in my thirties with my mustache and goatee) funky looks whenever we walk in together. *Shrugs*

If no one was even bothered, than ignore this post. :P

*ignores the post that requested ignoring*

I couldn't possibly list the movies I love. It's like asking a mother to pick which of her children she loves most. IMPOSSIBLE!! To give you an idea of how impossible it is, I should alert you that my movie collection (with very few exceptions) is composed entirely of my favorites, and is still incomplete. I own approx. 150 movies right now, and I have at least that many on my wish list for future ownership. *grins*

And I should know the answer to Interview since I own and love that movie, but it's been too long since I've watched it for me to remember.

I should know half of those...but I can't remember.

Very odd I can't remember the names of songs or who wrote them/sings them but I'll know the lryics (more like remember them the minute the songs starts playing). *grins*

OMG TEH DOUBLE POST!!

I need to know how many days have past for each character, since I believe we have a bit of a time differencial here. My theory (without reading too far back) is that, in terms of overall time, Buzz and Josh have been adventuring on their continuum for about 3-ish days, whereas Alastor and Laila are still on the same day, effectively; this day being the day Josh is taken into the Resistance.

Correct me if I'm wrong; I'm just looking for continuity, ya know.

Let us see... timeline, timeline...

For Josh and I, I think we're on our fourth day...

day 1: meet @ arena, Buzz takes Josh home after Trigetti's beating
day 2. travel into Inner Circle, to escape police.
day 3: get sucked into Resistance, mmet Crayfish, receive new identities both.
day 4: meet Rose... and presumably rob bank, I don't know yet.

yep... guess it's four days.

Dunno where the rest of you fit into that schedule, but that's what I got so far.

(And... uhm... *dives for cover* I never saw Interveiw either... eep-eth!)
I was so mad, I could have chewed up nails and spit out paper clips.

Well, I just wanted to let them know that I'm back... and just full of surprises to come. ~grin~
