KoE Tournament - Virus

The camera fades in on an uncharacteristically well lit den area, the bright lights reflecting off finely polished wooden surfaces and hilighting the fine gold and silver pattern that weaves through the deep layer of carpet on the floor. Zelphyn D'Athaal leans back in a plush leather recliner, sipping iced tea and watching two large screen television sets that are set up side by side on the far wall of the den, on one screen is a muted scene of "The Virus" in the promo he cut earlier on and on the other screen is a looped tape of the finale of the ladder match at United the previous weekend.
After several moments of silence Zelphyn pours himself another glass of iced tea from the pitcher beside his chair and nestels further back into his seat, leaning his head back and closing his eyes to listen to the scratching of the tape in the VHS and his own breathing in his ears for a little while before snapping his eyes open and tilting his head to gaze at the camera for the first time. His silver eyes bore unblinkingly into the lens of the camera and his thin lips twitch up into a tight smile that lasts only as long as it takes him to gather his thoughts and begin to speak, his soft voice carrying an unusual tone of levity and mirth,

Virus...first off let's get out of the way the little bits and bats from your monologue that caught my attention, don't worry there isn't much as not an awful lot of what you said was really worth any time or consideration so there weren't be much time invested in this
First thing I noticed was your little butchery of my name, but you know what? That's cool, you can call me "Zelp", "Zelphyn" "Anthony" or even "Morris the bakery assistants bunny rabbit" for all I care because a name doesn't mean an awful lot, they can be changed on a whim...which you might want to think about doing, I mean "The Virus" that is terribly "early 80's horror movie title" you know and while your in ring efforts may be a real scarefest there's not much else about you to be afraid of!

Zelphyn raises his glass in a mock salute and takes a few gentle sips of the liquid within before setting the glass to one side and stretching his arms up over his head slowly, arching his back and letting out a barely supressed yawn before attempting to continue speaking,

Sorry about that Virus, it seems that even speaking about you causes drowsiness, you should really have a warning label on you old man...but regardless of that let's crack on since I have better things to do than spend much longer talking about you. Now the second thing in your oh so precious little promo was your questioning wether I was prepared to be extreme...am I prepared for that? I'll be honest and tell you I don't know. You see I'm a -wrestler-, not some back alley thug and all I'm in this tournament to do is prove that the name of the game in the end, no matter what the stipulation, is always wrestling and in that regards nobody can even come close to touching me. Am I being a little arrogant here? A little over-confident? Well maybe I am, but I know my ability and after watching the ladder match at United I'm pretty sure I know yours aswell...and mine far surpasses it. So to answer your question, no I'm not ready to get extreme but I am ready to take you to school and if I have to bust you open, break your bones and shatter your spirit in the process...then so be it, to some people that would be the same thing but those people are grossly missinformed and shouldn't be allowed to keep opinions of their own!
You say I need to be willing to risk my career to win a match...I say I'm going one up tomorrow night, tomorrow night I'm willing to risk your career aswell as my own to come out on top and prove that what I say about my ability really is fact not fiction!

He reaches for his glass again and pauses, instead picks up a remote and clicks off the screen that was running Virus' promo then he just stares at the one which loops the rather controversial ending to the ladder match from United. Clucking his tongue softly he strokes his jaw and turns back to the camera with a thoughtful expression on his handsome face,

I will agree with you on one thing Virus; Mr Ridel did indeed get lucky, lucky that you stiffed on learning how to climb a ladder properly and ended up sailing off like a jackass. Maybe after tomorrow's match when I progress and you're trying to count just how many joints I popped out of place while I was stretching you like a bow string I can grab a ladder and show the correct form getting up one of those things eh? Nah, probably not, the complex art of climbing is probably a bit beyond your "mind", so to speak, so I guess I'll just leave well alone and concentrate on beating you into the ground.

He chuckles slightly and reaches for his glass to take another sip of tea before flicking off the second TV screen and closing his eyes once more, still turning his face back to the camera again as his face takes on a passive and languid set with is relaxation.

So there it is Virus, you've got until tomorrow to prepare for me but then your time runs out and after that all you have is a month worth of traction during which you can try and work out just why you failed so miserably against me, why you left Vengence against me more humiliated than you were when you left United without a title belt. I'm a generous guy though Virus so I'll tell you right now why you won't beat me tomorrow and it isn't even really because I'm so much better than you, it's just because you aren't ready and your desperate attempts to convince yourself and those around you that you are, well they just ring hollow in the grand scheme of things...and that's fact, not fiction for sure!
Eddie Kim sends his regards, motherfucker!
