Har.

Where you gfind a Raige you generally find a Khavi not too far behind. And here I am. Playing a vampire... All right, here goes nothing.

++++

Name: Elizabeth Hughes (Libby for short)
Discipline: Presence
Appearance: 5'6", slender and nymph-like. Wavy burgundy hair cut even with her chine, very dark grey eyes, and overall Libby is strikingly pretty.

Personality: Chronically flirtatious. Will take advantage of her looks to tempt humans into dark corners and feed off them. Generally a friendly woman, if a little vague sometimes. Smokes a lot, and of course visits those illegal speakeasies.

History: Raised all her life in the city, effectively the Irish poor side of down, Libby is quite savvy to what goes on on the streets. Her parents are both from the Emerald Isle, having migrated over shortly after they were married, in light of the potato famine. Libby, after the deaths of both of her parents when she was 17, ran away to make a name for herself in the richer parts of town. She became a shanty singer, beginning by crooning for drunks in low-town speakeasies. Eventually a rich nightclub owner heard her voice and offered to give her a permanent job in his club in the high class section of the city. Thus she's now quietly famous, both for her stunning beauty and her smoky, jazzy voice.

How She Was Turned: One night she was in the alley behind her nightclub, having stepped outside for a quiet smoke. As she was lighting her own Lucky, a man in a long dark overcoat seemed to appear from nowhere, asking her for a light. She obliged, and the next thing Libby knew she was waking up in her apartment, and the man was in her kitchen apparently making himself a sandwhich. He explained to her that he was a vampire, and had been watching her for some time and because of her beauty decided it was worth changing her. After he finished his sandwhich he explained to her a little of what it meant to be a vampire, said his name was James, and then bid her a good afternoon and left.

Other: Being changed hasn't really had much affect on Libby, other than to make life, or un-life as the case may be, a little more exciting. She found her voice was a little better, and she had the uncanny ability to attract people if she really wanted to. Doesn't generally carry any weapons, though over time she does become a pretty good shot with a handgun. Also, tends to fall for the moody, brooding types.

Hokay, so, that should be about it. Unless I think of anything I can't bear to leave out... Which I probably won't.
I was so mad, I could have chewed up nails and spit out paper clips.

Whether or not I have the time or energy to actually join the rp, I figure I should at least get this character bio up.

Name: Anke Svenson
Discipline: Fortitude
Appearance: A dainty 5'3", Anke has long dark brown hair that falls to the middle of her back, and had deep dark blue eyes before she was embraced. She is attractive, though by no means stunning since she was taken at a young age.

Personality: She tends to be more than a little brooding, though her youth and naivete is cause for a strong rebelious and over-eager streak. She is kind to a fault, though that, too, can be attributed to her inexperience with the world.

History: She was born in Sweden to a Croatian man and a Swedish woman who had met by chance on separate journeys through Europe and fell in love. They raised her until her sixteenth year, when she seemingly was kidnapped and never heard from again.

How She Was Turned: What really happened was that she had snuck out of her house one night to meet a young man from her town who had asked her to meet him just beyond the last house. She had thought his invitation odd since he had never spoken to her before, but since she'd fancied him for some time had agreed. When she reached the meeting point, Anke saw that he was standing and waiting for her. She ran up to tap him on the shoulder, but he didn't move. She looked around in confusion and caught the eye of something in the darkness. She remembers little from that moment until the time of her first taste of her sire's blood when she woke to darkness.

Other: She has lived her life since that night with her sire, learning of the sinful nature of her existence and how she must avoid venturing near others at all costs. She doesn't really understand why, and as such has run from her sire's home to the land of opportunity across the sea to see the world...or so she hopes. The only bit of advice from her sire she follows religiously is to keep her eyes guarded from vision. She wears tinted glasses, and generally avoids making eye contact, though she is a little unsure why.
Do not see me...

. Can vampires get stoned/wasted/wired/high/trip (as in LSD, mushrooms, mescalin, peyote, etc)? Just another thought to ponder. Could explain FP's nutball character...one too many trips down LSD Avenue....

*giggles uncontrollably* Hey, don't mind if I do!

Regardless, I believe that they only get high/drunk if they drink the blood of someone who was high or drunk. That'd be an interesting compulsion for Ace to get into.

Another note: since there is a mafia/mob that isn't the Al Capone people, then Ace would be part of them, just for the sake of argument. If that changes something, let me know.

And having Khavi as a vampiric bar wench *gets slapped* er, lounge singer...then this is definately going to be awesome.

So what do we have: an insane theif with unholy speed, an incredibly tough straight laced work-a-day guy, a soft-spoken girl with entrancing powers, a mortal "holy and pure tee-hee" girl, a ghoul of the mob boss, a tortured priest who could probably punch holes in concrete, aformentioned bar singer, and the naive new vampire girl. Sounds like a good mix.

I second that.

*smiles* Yup I think I rather like the sounds of how you're wanting the werewolves to be done. So I think I'll drop a character in...though I should say that I'm going away next week so my character will have to more than likely turn up a tad on the late side :)

Oh and I presume if we're basing this off WoD werewolves, it's a genetic thing? Or do you want to work it as a curse. I've sorted her history out as it being a genetic thing but I can change that if you want it to be by the bite of another werewolf.

Name: Claire Sanders
Age: 26
Powers: Werewolf so see Christopher's earlier post.

Appearance: Dark, short hair, spiked just a little. Pale grey eyes, clear, serious but betraying the harshness to her. If the eyes are the windows onto the soul then she's not got a good deal of humour to her, just a little bit too hard, a little bit too cold. She stands about 5'7", strong but not over-muscular, she works out that much is obvious but she's more reliant on speed and agility than pure strength. Claire tends to wear loose, dark clothing, things that are easy to move in rather than necessarily look good on her.

Personality: She's blunt and doesn't like to show whether she cares about something or not. There's a touch of a temper to her but she prefers to keep it buried deep (even if she does tend to lose the battle with it from time to time). Most of the time she comes over as an anti-social girl trying to be just a touch too tough and cold. When she loses her temper though her passions tend to rage a little warmer ;)

History: The daughter of an American soldier and his British bride, Claire's first memories as a child are of the wild open countryside. Of course those memories are just about her only memories of the countryside. Her father died when she was still a babe in arms and it wasn't until much later that she discovered the reason why. Her mother moved to the city soon after the death and rarely left it afterwards. Although Claire would have disagreed while growing up her mother seemed to think that the city was a much safer place for her daughter to be, "less superstition and nonsense", she was often heard to say. Though admittedly with a tear in her eye.

Her mother kept her daughter fed and clothed by working at her father-in-law's corner shop. It wasn't much but it was enough. Claire's mother tried to give her daughter a little education, but Claire's thoughts were rarely on the books and lectures of her mother. She wanted to be outside and was usually found running with the local boys in their gangs. They teased her for being a girl but she soon proved that she wasn't like the others, disliking talks of dresses, weddings and the like which seemed to occupy the heads of the other girls.

She never had any ambitions to be anything in the world, not that there were a great deal of avenues open to her at that time. Claire expected to just grow up and end up taking over her paternal grandfather's shop. Her grandfather doted on her and didn't even chide her as her mother did when she walked about wearing boy's clothing or when she came back with her knees scuffed and bleeding. The old man used to look at her as she grew up and shake his head just a little sadly, commenting that she was the spitting image of her grandmother. Why this upset him so Claire didn't understand.

The night of her first change is still one that she looks back on with confusion, not to mention more than a little sadness. She's not entirely sure what happened, but she remembers trying to get out of the city and then being chased by someone. There was a figure chasing after her, human-shaped but somehow she felt scared of him, even with her newfound strength. She ran through the city until she was utterly lost but had thankfully lost the figure, or so she thought. When she recovered her shape and her senses she managed to steal some clothes that had been left forgotten on a washing line and sought out a payphone, dialling up her grandfather and asking him to come and get her.

The old man hurried over, consoling Claire and muttering to himself that she should have been told. When he finally got her home though, there was worse news waiting. While he had been out collecting her someone had broken into the family home and killed her mother. At the time she didn't know why but the scent in the house told her that it was the same man that she remembered chasing her.

Her grandfather sold up his store and moved them across town to a similar neightbourhood, trying to keep his granddaughter safe. He was the one who told her that her father and grandmother had been blessed, or cursed, just as she was.

Present: Since her first change Claire has pretty much tried to keep her head down and has concentrated on being ignored by the rest of the city's unnatural creatures. She protects her neighbourhood as any wolf might protect their territory. The rest of the time though she tends to keep herself hidden away, helping out in her grandfather's new store. But always there's the thought in the back of her mind to find the figure who chased her on the night of her first change and who she's sure was responsible for murdering her mother. As yet though her search hasn't turned up anything and she's torn between keeping her true nature hidden and finding her mother's killer.

Ok that's it. Anything that doesn't fit with your idea of the city, werewolves etc, just tell me and I'll sort it out :)

Haven't posted in about a year, but I feel like writing again for some reason. I'm extremely unfamiliar with WoD and V:tm...but I'd like to RP a werewolf. If someone can point me to some source material or give me a brief introduction to them that'd be great :D I kinda like not knowing much, I'd hate to copy characters already written and floating about.

Right the RP thread is now open, post your intros as you will, and feel free to throw in what sub-plots you feel like, I'll be revealing more of the main plot as the story progresses.

Lyssia, sounds good. The genetic aspect is exactly as I'd imagine the werewolf ability to be passed so that's cool.

Ren, post if you can, the more the merrier. You can easily find a White wolf homepage if you search the web, I'm not sure of the link myself. But all you really have to know about a werewolf character is what we've already discussed. It's a genetic thing, constant use of the power causes conflicts between the internal beast and the human side, and you are generally quicker, stronger and more durable in werewolf form. Also you can be a 'lone wolf' like Lyssia or a resident with the local pack.

FP that's cool, having Ace in with the same mob faction is a good idea. You'll probably be called upon soon enough.

And on the intoxication thing. Vampires in this Rp CAN drink, get high or whatever. The only thing that is true to the standard books is the final death from light exposure, fire or decapitation. But also bear in mind that drinking from an intoxicated person can bring on a more severe addiction. A reliance on drinking only from those types of people to get that same heady rush, which is more powerful than any standard drug, more often. Blood Junkies. *L*

That said Vampires don't have to drink or eat, and obviously can't be suffocated. Or drown. But having no air in the lungs makes bouyancy quite difficult.

Phew. Done. I'm off to bed now.

Just thought of a few more points before I go to work on another post for the rp thread.

Kindred. I've noticed quite a few of you have been "accidentally" turned. I'm of two minds how to play this through. Traditionally ((At least by the masquerade books)) Vampires need permission to create new kindred. They also must keep a close eye on their 'offspring'.

In Khavi's case I would imagine that James would from time to time check in on her character. ((Toreador))

Priest would likely have been turned by a sabbat vamp. Therefore he's an exception. Bear in mind though that the kindred council would have questions for him if they ever found out he existed. ((Likely Sabbat, posibly counted as Caitiff.))

Eleri, your case would be similar to Khavi's. Your mysterious creator would probably pop by once in a while, even if he kept his presence hidden. ((Toreador))

Marcus Wight. ANother exception, I'll be interested to see how you play him through in his quasi-vamp role. (?)

Ace: If you are in Don Franco's group, it is possible seeing as you were accidentally turned, that the Don has taken you under his protection. It should be noted here that the Don is a member of the council. Not the Prince though. ((Caitiff or Sabbat))

Whilst I'm rambling, I'll answer an earlier question of fp's. Yes there are clans. Ventrue, Brujah, Nosferatu, Toreador and Tremere. Each clan has a head on the council, Franco has a VOICE on the council at the will of the rest of the primogens. Any questions on clans then let me know. But as a pointer I've put likely clans next to character names.

On the other hand ((the other mind)) Perhaps we should play it more like Anne Rices books where vampires simply create where they will and do not have seperate clans. ((Although in the Anne Rice books it's considered more a curse than a gift.))

Let me know what you think.

*Runs off to work on his next post.*

In response to CS' post about the Kindred:

Most of those you named are Clans...(Toreador, etc) but the Sabbat is (to my understanding) a Sect, not a Clan. Are we going to use Sects in this story too, writing in the political/power struggle between the Sabbat and the Camarilla? Or are we going to go down to the smaller-but-still-large clan-sized political/power struggle?

Maybe I've been misinformed and am completely off-target here. I've read some about Caitiff vampires...and they aren't really part of any clan at all...they are the outcasts of Kindred society? Am I right, here, or am I missing the target again?

Here's one of the websites I use to research my vampy characters...for clan descriptions and all. Let me know if my thinking is screwed or what, if you would, please?

I'm actually working on a post right now...sorry, I don't even have a bio up yet...I will in time, something I'm short on right now. I do have a question though. Can someone explain to me the extent of the relationship between silver and werewolves as far as this story is concerned? I don't need a chemistry explanation...simply, how can werewolves interact with silver? In human form, can they pick it up? Can they lick it? Any help would be great!

Eleri :For information on the Clans available look here : http://www.white-wolf.com/Games/Pages/V ... rilla.html

Raige: Yes, the sabbat is a sect, just as the clans I mentioned are part of a sect: Camarilla. The only reason I mentioned it as a seperate 'clan' is that the majority of the Sabbat are simply opposite or antitribu clans of the same name. ((With the exception of Tzimisce and a few others. But more on those later)) To begin with people should be more concerned with their own placement within their clans, no need to worry about the major power struggles hust yet.

Also yes, Caitiff are kind of outcasts. Generally they are kindred that have been created who have no known clan ((Possibly because some ramapaging sabbat has turned someone and left them to it. There are methods of tracing their bloodline though, but usually Caitiff are either used by the other kindred, or eventually absorbed into another clan.. adopted if you will, depending on their usefulness.

Also FP.. on checking that site, I realised you'd probably be a good malkavian. Read for yourself.

Ren: Silver is absolutely abhorrent to werewolves. It's painful to touch, would burn the tongue if licked, and is the only weapon by which wounds can be caused that the werewolf cannot heal quickly. As an example a normal bulletwound would be healed as quickly as a bruise or graze for a werewolf, whereas a silver bulletwound would be the equivelant of a regular bulletwound on a normal human being. So avoid silver like the plague.

On another point: Vampires in this DO cast reflections, they aren't generally afraid of crosses unless someone truly faithful is behind that cross, and staking does not kill a vampire, it simply sends them into a death-like state. Fire is a major fear for vampires though as is, obviously, sunlight.#

Hopefully that's answered everything.

Whee! So I'm like the lost Malkavian or something if everyone else fits into one of the other clans. Schwing.

And it'd be more than fine for Don Franco to take Ace under his wing. I can't wait to see how Ace and Giancarlo interact, given the former is insane and giggly and the latter is cold.

About werewolves and human flesh...what happens if they abstain from it for a prolonged period of time? Also, can they eat the flesh of the deceased, and would that be as good as the living?

Just had another question to ask about the werewolf characters.

How are we doing the limits on shape-shifting? I mean are we going the W:tA route and so we have five forms or are we cutting that down to just the 'wolf-man' form or the ordinary wolf? Didn't want to go any further in my post as Claire until I was more sure what was happening about that :)

Playing generations of werewolves should be fun, as they aren't immortal like the vamps. Going have to think about sorting out a generation on from Claire at some point in this rp! lol

Damn.. sorry for being so absent guys, a few real life issues got in the way for a while. But anyways. Hopefully we're all still on board.

Your questions:

Ren: Werewolves that abstain from eating human flesh will be weakened in their changed forms and only restored to full strength by the full moon. Eating the flesh of the dead is a no-no, as their is no vital energy there to absorb.. but that said, in the same way that some vampires take to blood from animals, so too some werewolves have taken to gaining their energy from taking down cattle and such. But this sustainance will only sustain the pure wolf form and like human flesh must be taken while the animal is still alive. In other words you could easily be a werewolf that does not hunt humans or animals, but your strength would ebb and flow with the cycles of the moon.

Lyssia: We'll stick to the human form, wolf form and werewolf form. See the other two forms as transitional i.e they're seen between changes.

*L* yeah, it'll be interesting to see what the offspring of Claire will turn out like.

Right. Hopefully that's sorted out everything. And I'm interested to see how Libby will react to Giancarlo's heavy handed tactics with Eddie.
