First Guardian - comments and info - OOC

First Guardian is the first novel of my eventual Relics of Unity series...it's actually mostly complete, but I'm only posting bits and pieces at a time while I work it over somewhat. Any critical comments are greatly appreciated--the more edits I get from someone else, the less I have to make myself. ;) And yes, I posted it with the wrong alt, this whole new board system is messing with me. :P

Background info for the story (ie: the back cover of the novel or something):

Coren Hashpern never wanted anything except to take over his father's position as Chief Huntsman and to live out his life roaming through the forests of Vilora. But all of that changed one fateful morning, and Coren's whole world was turned upside-down. Now, he found himself sucked up into a quest he didn't fully understand, with people he didn't really know. All Coren wanted was to live a normal life, succeeding his father as Chief Huntsman, but now it seemed like he would never get that chance.

Follow Coren in his journeys as he travels from his home colony of Vilora to distant planets and distant star systems. In a futuristic universe combined with elements of magic, anything is possible. The battle for Unity has been joined, and only time will tell if Creation shall win out, or if Destruction shall rule over all. Do not forget the power of the Relics, and when all seems lost, remember the courage of...

Absolutely amazing. I'm more than a little impressed. Let us know when you finally get published eh? I'll be one of the first to pick up the book.

Thanks :) This is supposed to be a kind of meld between science-fiction and fantasy...all the Prologue really does is give you some background into the story...none of it really applies until like the 6th chapter. As far as a meld goes, so far there really isn't much sci-fi *or* fantasy in it...just a regular ol' adventure hehe.

I like my surprise endings however. ;)

I'll post the first chapter shortly, that's where the *real* story begins.
