LQS Build Strategy

Postby Torkano » Wed Jun 18, 2008 8:26 am

I have split this out of the bugs thread. Feel free to discuss LQS saves, build strategy etc in here, rather than fillingt he Bugs thread. ~Kaz

I can't seem to load any of my saved builds because they are no longer there.

edit-Ok just now checking but it seems all of my private save 1k builds and 4400 builds have all become public and nothing is in my private builds. Is there a way to put them back?

All the saves from last age or created in the quad game are in the public saves Tork

Most of your saves would have been for 1000 turns, there is still another 3500 to play to make them different to you lol

I only wish Seska had made a Centaur save that went further than 3050 turns. Bastard.

Now I have to finish each Centaur save off on my own.

I think they are there so you don't need to build more quarries upon the land you take. But if you haven't noticed, I was just hoping to stay in one day longer than I did last time, so I played all Vampires.

Fuck it, at least I know them.

I guess so hehe. I dont know about you guys, but Im not building ANYTHING once the game starts. Oh sure, if my temps get burnt down to nothing then I will spare a few turns rebuilding some...but thats it. Besides that, my turns are much more valuable garnering land.

If you war right off the bat, you should pick up an avg of 50k acres. So your build rate drops to say 18-20brt. You may get 1 or 2 builds in before someone smacks you. So that is around 4k more built acres. Yeehaw. Should you be fortunate to survive and get another succesful strike in...by that time you will have 180-200k+ acres and your brt is fucked.

I personally start the game with about 30-33k quarries.

Thoughts? Ideas? Am I out in left field here?

I built to 30k quarries last time and did ok.

I do intend to build a few more this time around but I also plan on holding more land to start. I think the 45k start is one of those that give you more flexibility.

im a bit confused? so 4500 turns is all we get correct? so the smart thing to do would be saving at least 1500 for hitting right? if we spend all 4400 turns u get 100 left to kill with, thats not many! and the only way to get more turns is off a bounty right? so why is there all these 4400 builds?

No Maliki 4500 turns are all you get during NPP, once NPP is taken off you will start generating turns like normal. Save atleast 100 turns to fort build with the rest.
Death is a very dull, dreary affair, and my advice to you is to have nothing whatsoever to do with it.

Saving 1500 would be pointless. The max turns will become 150 when NPP ends so if you have 1500 saved you will lose 1350 turns.

So we save 100 turns to fort, and then sit with 0 turns come war time?

I agree with Grunt - Can we get full turns once NPP is lifted?

We have 5 days before game starts is what is says in game. Thats 5x5=25 turns. I would save like 125-130 turns. You can be at full turns by start time.

I dont know about the free turns though. If we were getting free turns, I would have played my turns down to zero.

I've tried building 35k quarries and it didn't garner me that much built land out of the starting gate. I've done 60k and 50k and it doesn't build enough crucial buildings. I've found 40-45k quarries is the optimal amount because it give you maximum land and great building ratio of other buildings plus it allows alot of cash build-up by end of build phase. I feel 45k is ample amount more or less because if you are burned to below 1k temps early, which I have been right out of the starting gate, you can build a fair amount of temps back so the small kingdoms aren't able to sorcekill you. Its a waste of turns for the large kingdoms to sorcekill a large kingdom. Most turn efficiant is to burn with large kingdom and sorce with a smaller kingdom. So those 45k quarries helps right at the start of the age but like you said are worthless later on after you start taking land. But when you are burnt early it helps a great deal for you not to be taken out by a peon kingdom. Just my 2 cents.

Just some advice to those grumbling out there...

4400 turn save is fine, heres the math.

that leaves you 100 turns. And well go with you were smart enough to build your realm early. You'll notice if your still voting you can garner five free turns a day 5x5 = 25.

Secondly you get extra smart and encamp your realms daily...for a mere 16 hours/day while in NPP...thats another 5x5 = 25.

100+25+25 = 150...and if I am not mistaken thats a cap for us all.

just a thought...doubt its what the admin intended but its a valid trick to use to regain turns...next age I will try to build all my doms day 1...then fully exploit the option of encamping during NPP...to maximize turns...well see...I caught it half way thru this time...I was that....5 day guy...those who havent caught on yet can be 3 day guys
