Turmoil's end approaches but do not fear, LQS is nearly here

Postby Kaz » Sat May 10, 2008 1:48 pm

We have decided to reset Solo and Turmoil alongside Massacre instead of waiting for another month.

Turmoil has been disapointing for the last few ages, we have kept it going for long than we planned, so after it resets tomorrow it will stay reset.

In its place will be a new game Last Quad Standing

You will start with 2000 turns available to spend (plus any turns that you missed by not starting immediatly). If you wish (up to playing 1000 turns), you will be able to use one of the Massacre saved builds.

Initially NPP will be set at 99999999, you will receive 15 turns an hour with no turn maximum.

The tithing system will be increased to allow you to build huge realms ready for the end of NPP.

All 9 races will be available to play.

The game will count down to the end of NPP giving you a warning like massacre does for the end of age.

Once NPP is over, the maximum turns of 150 will kick in, as will the real turn rate of 5 per hour. You will no longer be able to create new realms at this point.

You can have 4 realms yourself, and can ally with anyone in your faith. Please be aware that your quad mates could attack you, as same faith attacking will be on.

We also plan to include the Score screen from massacre, and Ultimabase, but no guilds.

If it is possible, a new Quad screen will be added, allowing quads to be ranked. But do not count on this as for certain.

Feel free to discuss

Sounds fun, how long will the NPP last for though?

Probably a week, give people the chance to build some monster realms

i'm confused

so npp lasts until a certain date?
not until you reach 99999999 or however many turns?

since its last quad standing, once a realm dies you can't restart it right
can you work with friends, or is that against the rules. not sure if i got time to run 4 more realms, but will play two if someone else wants to play two alongside me

Sweet, thanks Kaz.

Fire,

You will have 7ish days of NPP at 15 turns per hour. If you wish you could make a realm at the last minute, get all of the turns for the NPP duration, and build the lot before NPP ends.

You'll start with 2000 and basically get another 2500 or so during the week.

Then.

Max turns comes into effect, set at 150.

The turns rate changes from 15 per hour to 5 per hour

NPP is changed from a huge number you cant reach, to -1.

I have drastically increased tithe, so you should be able to get some really nice huge realms over the week of NPP

[edit]

One thing I'll add.. regarding the savebuild. The public saves (and your private saves) are based using tithe as per massacre rules. It may be more efficient to build some new saves for future LQS games

Wow, thats really different than any game i've played here before.

Sounds interesting though...

If people got a week of npp and then if they died then the couldn't come back, then how long would an age of the game last. Or how long would those who all died have to wait before the could make another realm?

I have no idea how long an age of LQS will last.

With the ease of killing i suspect that it wont take too long to get down to one, but I cant answer that until we've seen an age.

There will be no rejoining, however if it's succesful but taking a bit longer than it should, we could always add a second LQS to run alongside .

The LQS tithe limit is much increased from that of Massacre.

I've just tithed to 60k acres and it's still going strong

It should see you easily to the end of NPP

Can we have an exact time and date for when NPP ends? Should make for a mad scramble at the start.

If it says 6 days at time X and 5 days at time Y, you know it will occur somewhere between then.

Its an equation.

If it says 6 days at time X and 5 days at time Y, you know it will occur somewhere between then.

So this would equal 6x - 5y = z

'z' being the time that it would end. Therefore, if you subtract these two, and get the following final number of 1 day.

Wait a minute ....

I hate math.

done.

I have also ensured the Unity race specifics are in play, eg Sidhe summoned temples, Elementals forts killing etc.

I have also included - at this point - 2 of the suggestions from the Unity thread.

Human troops have been changed, and the Elven fort destruction increase has been made

defensive alliances

I have implimented two of the suggestion regarding allied defenses.

You cannot help but laugh. Xxxxxxx's forces were easily turned aside.
The heathen armies of Xxxxxxx were a serious threat, but your forces managed to hold

Once the ally is broken below this message, aid will cease ... other than a random 1 in 20 chance that a slightly magnified allied defenses will kick back in as an ambush.
