If Solo and Turmoil ...

Postby Kaz » Thu Dec 27, 2007 6:36 pm

If...... Solo and Turmoil were to be split from the old code base, and started to utilise the open troop values in place in Unity and Massacre.

Which races would you guys like to see in game.

Here is a reminder of the Massacre race stats for the 9 possible races

http://www.evernight.com/troopinfo/massacre.php

Please note, and I need to be clear because time is quite tight at the moment, the core IF in the title of this thread, this is thought generation time, not Kaz is about to uplift Solo and Turmoil time.

For some reason I thought that the Dwarves were one of the more iconic Tolkein races necessary to capture an audience's attention. The other races are kind of interesting but not necessarily Tolkeinian in nature.

Droben, Vampire, Elemental, Centaur, and Sidhe are almost all concepts created for Valid and Mo'Pri. Turmoil and Solo don't seem to be birthed from that arena. Those games seem more like Guilds than Pri.

But that is just me. I hope I have helped.

I was thinking along the same lines of Immort and going with the Unity model. Base 3 races(Human, Elven, Goblin) and 2 random races each age.

Hmm, while Mal's idea has merit: Three equally defensible races but each specialising in a different aspect of the game (scum/sorc/war) I gotta go with the random selection thing. Not even necessarily keeping the core 3 races, but completely random selection of 3 or 4, resulting in, as Grunt stated, a 'new world' every age.

I think an age of Vampire, Centaur and Sidhe would be hilarious.

Followed up by Droben, Goblin, Elemental and Dwarf - who cares about namby pamby scum and sorc anyways! :P

Andy,

The Droben are otherwise know as the rock people.

They were originally introduced in Maxim, and then were used in Valid for a while.

They are an offensive war race, characterised by having a large summon.

Check this thread out for a copy of the Story introduction and description of the troop types.

Update on whats happening with next ages changes

Prior to declaring war, the script should take your networth, and reduce it by 10%.

eg. 100,000 becomes 90,000

That reduced value is then compared to your target.

If the target is bigger that 90,000 you can declare war freely.

If smaller than 90,000 the game checks to see if your realm number is listed in your targets recent attacks boxes.

If they attacked first you can declare, otherwise the game will suggest that you make a harder war.

If they did not attack first the game checks their total land against yours.

If they have more you can declare, otherwise the game will suggest that you make a harder war.

If the game suggests that you make a harder war, the current time is added to a 'downthit' variable.

Having the downhit value should stop people attemptng to 'scout' down for larger acres through attacking down.

If the value was set in the last 24 hours, you lose the rights to the downhit for more land.

You can still downhit realms that hit first.

All of these changes are made for Declarations of War only.

You can still make 3 non-declared attacks against any realm you like.

And if I come online and see someone burning me and I quickly fluff scum and see him...if he is under 90k above me I can not punish him? (and possibly as he is using a scum attack on my balanced realm he WILL be below me)
If a realm my size or under (or actually a little bigger whacks me FA 3 times, I can only whack him back 3 times? Well 2 if I have to break ambush?

So Pesh can run wild just hitting everyone 3 times and no one can hit him back?

EDIT
Well I missed that Pesh's hits would count as an attack to remove the restriction, would the seen scout *EDIT 2* meant burn or steal*/EDIT 2* also count?

what he means is, if you attempt to "declare" on someone who is 10% below your nw, and they don't have more acres than you, then the game will disallow your attempt to declare on said realm and give a message along the lines of "go choose a harder war", if that message appears, then your realm will be "tagged" as downhitter for 24 hours, if you are say so lucky you were scouting around and found some guy who has say 5k acres more than you and unfluffed, but 10% lower than your nw, then you lose the privilege to declare the said realm..

now poses a problem.. lol say i was "tagged", but i scouted a realm unfluffed ( ie i can just use 1G t4 to ease him ) and that will put me "below" his nw, is there any restrictions? im not sure if this is taking real time nw or nw from scrolls, but some ppl can d/s, get below the nw range, declare, fluff up and hit, (though i doubt rarely anyone do that anymore, most like to just up t4 and pray that they get in =p)
