Retirement

Postby Ricardo » Fri May 26, 2006 5:04 pm

Well it has been a week now since I played and this is just a quick note to all those affected and whom may care but i have decided to call it time on my Canon days.
RL has finally caught up with me and it's time I put my wife and sons first instead of this game and MuM; it's either that or the missus will divorce me.

Firstly apologies to MuM for leaving you after the first strike on FEL & SOL - the timing was shite I know, but the situation cropped up after that first strike and so I could not carry on after that time - so I left you leader and directionless - which I hope you will forgive me for as it's not what I wanted to do or ever have done before.

Secondly apologies to FEL & SOL for starting soemthing that I never got around to finishing - though i am sure you appreciated the lack of direction and coordination in MuM

Finally thanks for all those members of MuM past and present whom helped me with my first guild as GM - grealty appreciated and I am not gonig to single anyone out as everyone played their part - big or small, no matter how long you were with us.
So in the words of my old buddy Yarrick, Ciao, I am sure I will pop in every so often and maybe even come back as a non-GM player one day soon as I still have the game in my blood.
However the ability for me to be GM has now gone as I cannot commit the time anymore to doing so - so MuM will be no more as I do not believe anybody else has either the time or inclination to do so - if I am wrong on this then pelase let me know. I will be away on my hols for a few weeks and then will probably pop in every so often around the World Cup games and beer.

So for now stay happy and kill them heathens. 8)

I know exactly how it is, Ricardo. My wife said I could play again (she never gave me an ultimatum or made me quit) as long as I didn't commit to being AGM or GM/CoGM keeping me online all night. Take care and later down the road, see if you can do what I do. Come back as a grunt. It might also be a nice change of pace for you.

Enjoy the time off Ricardo. I know what your going thru. I am just back these last couple months from having to take my own extended leave for real life.

You well know any of your members are more than welcome I am sure in any of the guilds of the game.

Pop in and say hi when you can. Til we speak again. See ya.

Yes. Come back as a Grunt. You might not be as good as the original but it might be fun to try.

I know how it is. Some folks in this community have been great to get to know and play with. I miss it. Especially now with the old gods back in the picture, it presents itself like an old habbit, "I'm back! Now I want you back here with me! Breathe life into your old memories!".

It was fun being in the same guild Ricardo. Take care out there and best wishes in the real world.

Kind Regards,

I'll miss ya bro. We've been around for years as allies, opponants, and friends. I still do miss Yarrick as well and hope that he's taking care of himself.

Please take care of yourself and your family, and if time ever permits you to be able to be a grunt or just have fun playing the game, you'll always be welcome among the hounds.

Take care, bro.

I´ve been enjoying my break here a whole lot ... not having to worry about playing realms every day is a great thing lol.

Good luck with the missus Ric. Hopefully see ya around again.

Sad to see you leave, Ric. Right when I was planning on joining MuM ;)

Hell, if you ever decide to return, you'll be very welcome :) And please, let someone in MuM step up to take over, you're a nice bunch of people I love to fight with or against!

Aye, sad to see you go Ric. I did an age in MuM back in '04. You guys rock. I always wanted to return to MuM, (and tried a few times), but always had to leave due to RL getting in the way. So I feel ya.

Take it easy man. Don't be a stranger on ICQ. You will no doubt be missed.

No one currently in MuM has the capabilities or desire to step up as new leader. Therefore, MuM will disband on June 1st.

I think Ricardo did a great job at lifting MuM to a level where the other guilds could not ignore its existence. MuM was some sort of an experiment to try something new with the game. Especially the jumping faiths every few ages was the part I loved a lot. The Mercinary part proved to be something that was difficult to achieve but we had a lot of fun trying.

MuM will always be in my heart. I just hope that one day, we can wake the guild again.

Ricardo, fare thee well..

The FFA will miss you Ric.

We thank you for the home that you gave us and for leading such a strong and respected guild.

I'd be more than happy to provide the same to you if you decide to come back and do some grunt work.

Thats a shame boss. We certainly kicked some ass and wrote some bad poetry and even managed to take the throne a couple of times. MuM played well and had a good attitude. Come back like us plebs who can't commit.

We never gave you any respect in the first place - so exactly have you got to lose old man?

BTW I will be in Cornwall all June but I can't see me planning much in the way of road trips with my two babies - makes kipping on a couch slightly more complicated!
