Guilds Forum Rules:

1. Do not claim that threads are closed to the general public. As long as people are adding to the thread and not spamming or stalking then everyone is welcome in every thread.

2. No excessive vulgarity. As long as its part of the general post its acceptable, but when your swearing just to swear it will be edited.

3. No revealing Voice alts.

4. No Shadow Guilds. The shadow guild rules is now waived. Whit

A shadow guild is defined as - More than four kingdoms not in an approved guild working together in a coordinated way or being allied together, or any unguilded kingdom working with an approved guild in any way.

5. Do not post personal recruitment threads. There are faith threads created for that purpose. Guild recruitment threads are now allowed, see below. Gareth, 14 April 2006

6. Do not do anything that you or the Voice's think is unwarranted or in bad taste.

7. All posts in this forum are considered in character. If you would like to traditionally Role Play with your character please add (RP) or (RP Invite) for Role Play or Role Play Invite only to the end of your thread title.

Note: These are subject to change, they are just a basic guideline.

Guild Applications-Requirements for Acceptance:

::Please remember that Guilds are not accepted after the reset warning of the age::

1. The rules of Tempers Ball written out. This means word for word.

2. Your contact info, ICQ #, Yahoo!, Aol IM, or MSN. If you have one of these, put your number/screenname in the charter. If you do not have one of these services than that should be explained as well while you direct people to your e-mail.

3. Ways that members can be promoted.

4. Your in-guild ranks. GM, AGM, Diplomat etc.

5. What happens if the GM disappears.

6. Your guild name must be a unique one and may not have a God's name in it.

7. Your guild abbrevation must be connected to your long guild name. E.g "Velkyn Velve (VV) or (Velve)" it cannot be "Velkyn Velve (BB) or (BadAss)".

8. GOLDEN RULE: Do not spell a God's name wrong.

9. Your story must fit in with the world of Canon and it's time line. It must be new and you cannot steal it from other guilds, books, tv shows or movies.

10. A guilds story must be at least five full paragraphs long (this does not mean that just because your story is five paragraphs long you are going to be accepted). I want to see some effort and creativity.

In your story you need to explain why your guild formed, why you chose the God you're following and what your ultimate goal is. Not necessarily in that order, but I want to know the guilds purpose.

My suggestion is that you work on your story at least a week before you submit it. It usually turns out much better that way, trust me.

11. You must put
or
tags within your charter and rules sections or it will be automatically rejected.

This is because if you do not add the breaks manually, it comes out as one long sentence and is too hard to decipher.

Using colors is fine as long as it is readable. Pictures should be limited to one or two, they cannot take an excessively, as determined by staff, time to load.

This set of rules may be amended at any time. But you will be notified if changes are made.

Guilds can not live in more than one of the following: Maxim or Guilds so choose your world wisely.

I hope everyone has fun, Guilds OOC has always been a very active forum with players able to express themselves freely.

Questions or concerns should be directed to my e-mail.

With Fionn's accident, there has come a backlog of applications in the Guilds tool.

I will try to go through the applications there and see what we can do about them.

Please contact me on ICQ if you have any questions.

I accepted a couple of new guilds today and rejected a bunch. Most left out some of the things that should be included in every charter. The really disturbing thing is that FOUR separate applications were only three or four sentences long.

Personal Insults :

This is a forum for one of the versions of Canon we offer. It is not a forum for you to discuss your self-proclaimed intimate knowledge of a enemy guilds wives, or your sexual fantasies involving male athletic magazines.

If you are unable to tell the difference between real life, and this online fantasy game we allow you to play and all the lines and boundries that should not be crossed, then I see no point in you retaining your ability to contribute to this message forum.

Something to keep in mind the next time you are trying to be "funny".

One rule and one policy change

Recruitment thread change

One recruitment thread per guild is now allowed

This thread can double as your non-war thread. Each guild will also be allowed a war thread.

In the past the personal recruitment threads were discouraged because they started to drown out other threads. If this happens again, we will have a stickied post with links to the recruitment threads so that people don't feel the need to bump.

I may do that anyway just so threads don't get lost.

Spam Policy
We are going to be a bit more flexible in the spam rule as regards to taking threads off topic.

You are still not allowed to post the same post multiple times. If you do it accidentally, just note that it is a double post and I'll delete it.

I am happy to say that light-hearted posts will be given more leeway.

Interrupting a thread with unrelated whines or complaints will not be given the same leeway, nor will turning a thread into a personal bitch-fest between two posters.

Bolded the above post to make a point.

"Given more leeway" doesn't mean 100% tolerated. It is at the descretion of a staff member on what constitutes the level of leeway. This is a forum for a specific game of Canon, posts SHOULD as much as possible relate to the topic of the thread, and the game of Canon.

If thats a problem - well you know where my inbox is.
I bring cheer, love, and a boot in the ass.

Please keep in mind that the admins make the rules; the Voices merely implement them. The post I made above was to announce a change in policy made by the admins. I merely posted the change.
